The New KHIL Radio
Way back in 1959, the Hollywood Celebrity, Rex Allen, came back to his hometown in Willcox Arizona. He had a license in his hand to form the first radio station in Willcox, called KHIL. The call letters stood for the Dos Cabezas Mountains which stood as a background for Willcox. It was the first call letters issued by the Federal Communication Commission, the FCC, that had a vowel in them.
KHIL Radio is in the center of the Cattle Capital of the World and plays Classic Country Music for its audience. From the first pioneers of country music, like Jimmy Rodgers, to the turn of the century music of today, we play it all. And along with the music, we also play some comedy to make your day easier to get through.
We are proud to still be here for the people of the Sulphur Springs Valley and now with streaming added, we have listeners all around the world. Many generations of listeners have listened to and enjoyed KHIL Radio and we are proud to say that because of you, we are still in business today.
